Evergreen Privatstiftung is pleased to announce the acquisition of a minority stake in GreenGold Group AB (“GreenGold”), a leading European forestry investment company that owns and manages approximately 80,000 hectares of land.

Under the patronage of the Evergreen Privatstiftung, Austria’s HS Timber Group is making a strong statement for research and innovation in the forestry and timber sector with the Evergreen Prize for innovation. With a total prize fund of 300,000 Euro, the award supports pioneering scientific projects that develop new materials and products made from wood, forest biomass, or reclaimed timber.

The Austrian HS Timber Group has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the Latvian wood processing company Kurekss SIA from the previous shareholders, Jānis and Arnis Apsītis. The transaction is subject to approval by the competition authorities.

The Evergreen Private Foundation congratulates HS Timber Group and its management on the acquisition of the Latvian sawmill Vika Wood SIA. The seller is the Swedish company Bergs Timber AB.

Under the patronage of the Evergreen Privatstiftung, the HS Timber Group is organizing the Evergreen Prize for Innovation in May 2025. 

Under the research title “New materials made from wood”, research teams from universities across Europe will pitch their projects and compete for the Evergreen Prize - a research funding program endowed with 300,000 euros.
