The Evergreen Privatstiftung holds stakes in multiple companies, mainly in the real estate, forestry and wood processing industries. The role of the Evergreen Privatstiftung is to strategically manage and to further develop these subsidiaries in a sustainable way. By engaging in traditional asset management activities, it is also ensured that the necessary funds are available for the following purposes:

The Evergreen Privatstiftung aims to promote innovation in the forestry and timber industry and to support other non-profit and charitable causes.

The main founder is the Austrian entrepreneur Gerald Schweighofer.
His aim in setting up what is now the Evergreen Privatstiftung is to ensure and emphasise the sustainable philanthropic focus. In the case of the founder’s death, the charitable purpose will become the main objective of the then non-profitable Evergreen Privatstiftung.

The name “Evergreen” conveys the idea of sustainability and endurance.

The non-profit activities of the Evergreen Private Foundation are focused on two areas:

Projects

e.g. in the areas of education, social commitment and support for disadvantaged children

Financial support in the forestry and timber industry

including funding of innovation, research and development, and university education and training

Another objective of the Evergreen Privatstiftung is to give advice and support to the subsidiaries of the Evergreen Privatstiftung in relation to donations and sponsorship, ensuring that projects are also funded in line with the foundation’s aims.
Likewise, the Evergreen Privatstiftung can actively initiate projects that are in line with its aims and may encourage its subsidiaries to implement and support them.

The origins of the Evergreen Private Foundation date back to 1997.

The former Schweighofer Privatstiftung was renamed the Evergreen Privatstiftung in 2019.
